Psycho Shifters (review)

I enjoyed the audiobook of Blood of Hercules by Jasmine Mas, so when I saw Psycho Shifters was available as an audiobook from Harlequin Audio, I jumped on it! This had a similar feel to Blood of Hercules, but that didn’t hinder my enjoyment at all.

This was spicy, a fast read and – frustratingly – ends in a cliffhanger. (THE WORST!)

I’ve already ordered the next book in the series – Psycho Fae.

Bind Me (review)

Krakens, mermaids, talking otter sidekicks, fated mates, Norway…seriously, you would think Mila Young reached into my subconscious and pulled out *exactly* the elements to write the perfect paranormal romance just for me.

I absolutely loved the banter and push-and-pull in the relationship between Sasha and Kaden. The suspense as they work to solve a mystery together was an enjoyable element to the story as well.

This is definitely spicy, spicy. (And, there are some trigger warnings, so check those in advance.)

Bind Me is a standalone set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues Universe.

Blurb:

Fate shattered my world in a heartbeat.

As a bounty hunter, I’ve hunted the supernatural, yet nothing prepared me for the truth about my bloodline.

Exiled by a harsh twist of fate, I’m thrust into the cold heart of Norway. Here, amid ancient forests and icy waters, I’m supposed to start over. But shadows from my past cling tighter than ever.

A mission that was supposed to be my redemption throws me into the path with him—a man as dangerous and mysterious as he is infuriating. He’s hiding secrets that will get me killed, revealing he’s my fated mate.

Unbelievable!

His touch sparks a flame inside me, leaving me questioning everything.

Together, we stumble upon a dark conspiracy, centuries in the making, binding our fates together. As truths surface, we’re forced to work together.

As lines blur between us, I’m faced with a choice. Can I trust the man who awakens my soul but might be my ultimate undoing?

The Memory Curse (Review)

I absolutely adored Sheila Masterson’s The Lost God, so I was incredibly excited to read The Memory Curse.

The second book in the The Lost God series is much more character driven than The Lost God, with so much character development. While there is less action, I fell deeper in love with these characters. We get Cece’s POV, as well as Rainer and Xander’s throughout the book.

I absolutely love the world building in this series, a well as the magic system, which we see more of. I cannot wait to get my hands on The Storm King (expected to publish in March 2024) and dive back into this world.

The Lost God (Review)

The book hangover is real! I absolutely loved Sheila Masterson’s debut novel, The Lost God. This was such a ride – adventure, gods, royalty, love triangles, steam.

This is about 500 pages, and is definitely steamy! But the plot is slow burn, while never feeling slow. I was flipping pages quickly, totally absorbed into this story.

To touch back on romance aspect of this romantasy book: Like Cece my heart was torn in the love triangle! All I can say is I hope there is some “why choose” happening in The Memory Curse, because I don’t know how Cece can possible choose! Ugh, these boys were so romantic!

And the twists! Sheesh! I cannot tell you how many times I wanted to THROW this book because of the twists and the surprises! Especially when I didn’t see them coming. (No SPOILERS!)

I recommend going into this as blind as possible and enjoying the wild ride yourself!

The Memory Curse, book 2 in this series, comes out in November, so luckily I won’t have to wait too long to jump back into this world.

I had the opportunity to meet Sheila earlier this year when she spoke at Recycle Read Repeat in Norristown. She’s such a sweetheart and spoke about her writing process, this book, and her other upcoming books.

Thank you to the author and to Recycle Read Repeat for the #gifted copy!
